How Vegetarian Food Blogger Cookie and Kate Starts Her Day — My Healthy Morning

Welcome to Kitchn’s series My Healthy Morning, where we show you how one person greets the day in a way that makes them feel their best. Each post will chronicle how that person defines healthy for themselves, and the habits and recipes that make their morning a little bit better.

If you’ve ever scrolled through Pinterest or gone down a deep rabbit hole on Instagram searching for pretty food photos, then there’s a good chance you know Kathryne Taylor of the wildly popular vegetarian food blog Cookie and Kate. Kate’s site has been around since 2010, a long time in blogger years, and it was one of the first food blogs I personally followed with regularity. Her recipes are attainable yet special, healthy but not too healthy. She’ll post a recipe for broccoli salad and it will be followed up with a recipe for a classic hot toddy. In 2017 Kate published her first cookbook, Love Real Food, which is now an Amazon best-seller.

We recently had the opportunity to visit Kate at her home in Kansas City and have her walk us through her healthy morning routine. Here’s what we learned.
