The digital age has caught up with us. We’re wrapped around technology and it’s slowly sucking us in. There may be ways that we can do not to let it destroy our focus and attention.

Author Lesley Mcclurg from npr.org says that multitasking can be the reason why you’re not getting any work done. Surprised? A book called The Distracted Mind: Ancient Brains in a High Tech World by neuroscientist Dr. Adam Gazzaley and research psychologist Larry Rosen explains why the brain cannot do different things at once. Doing so lowers the productivity of an individual.

Heather R. Huhman from entrepreneur.com says that there are four basic ways to stop technology from messing with you at work. There can be times that you won’t be able to stop looking at your phone (well, maybe it’s ALL the time), just to check your email or get an update about something. She said that a report found that 90 percent of people claim that mobile devices help them get their jobs done and that’s based on Wrike’s 2016 Mobile Productivity Report.

CNBC.com author Susie Poppick says that phones are the greatest efficiency killers at work. A survey from CareerBuilder found that employers think that mobile phones ultimately impact the productivity of their employees at work.
