James Brown from The Conversation tells us about the kind of diet that will help us live a healthier life. He says that the person’s ability to live a longer life is affected by the genes that we have as well as the environment. The deciding factor though, or the one that has the greatest influence is the environment. How do we control this and get to a life span longer than that French woman?

It might be impossible for us to even dream of that age. (122 years is quite a long time my friend) However, Brown says that controlling our diet can help us survive longer. How? Well, it’s a matter of choosing the right kind of food for our body.

Rob Waugh from Metro UK clarifies Brown’s explanation: eating a meat-free diet can be awesome for your health but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it would prolong your life. Brown says that vegetarianism and longevity might be associated at some point however, there are different factors to consider.

These factors might affect longevity as well. For example, it’s possible that if you’re a physically active, non-smoking, non-drinking vegetarian, it would make sense that you increase your chances of having a greater lifespan.
