Is it necessary to own a cherry pitter? If you’re making cherry pie and need to pit a mountain of cherries, then yes, please do yourself a favor and buy an actual cherry pitter to make the process a whole lot easier.
But for the rest of us who just want to pit a few cherries for a sangria and don’t want to buy a unitasker, there are three other ways to pit cherries with things you probably already have in the kitchen or desk drawer!
